Description
The architectural team created the original
new museum and was retained for the large expansion
with similar architectural themes. One of the
most stunning design components is the lobby
with a large cantilevered roof and highly transparent
high span glass wall. The glass is unsupported
along the vertical joints which required a heavy
glass make-up of three plies of ½”
low iron glass 6 ft wide and 15’6”
tall. The corner detail included staggering
the plies to avoid an unsightly joint and conceal
the glass interlayer.
